Pic of computer setup - 2003 - Page 11

Here is my setup

I baught a FP after it was released and available. After I got it I soon realised that it made the desk I had look painfully lacking. I looked around and found only a few that did it justice. But the $$!!!So I designed and built the one you see.

I have been very happy with the FP and have enjpyed using it. I now have the need for a laptop and plan to buy a 15" or 17" PB.

Where'd you get those cool desk lamps? Especially the one mounted to the wall. I need something EXACTLY like that. Name and model please.

These Lamps are called Tolomeo from Artemide (www.artemide.com). You can get them with a desk stand or with a wall mount.

Fantastic. A bit pricey, but I'm ordering one today.

How much did you pay for those monitors? I'm wanting to try to find some at a decent price. Do you get a pretty clean picture from your DR. Bott? ADC VGA extractor? because I sometimes get wierd distortions.

No distortions or other problems that I have noticed.

I paid GBP£205 (inc VAT) each for them.

Unfortunately, at 1280x960 they only run at 75Hz, although at 1280x1024 they can run at 85Hz- this seems to 'squash' the image though! I am currently running them at 1600x1200 at 75Hz.

They are very flat, and have a SuperBright function that is OK for watching DVDs in bright ambient conditions.

What a large desk for such a tiny screen. \

Bah. Too clean. We need something messy to properly balance it.

Gonna have to steal a quote from X-Men on this one. =)

I still don't see the point of putting the tower so high on the desk. It looks so top heavy up there. Bad feng shui.

Massachusetts isn't exactly earthquake country, is it?

My reasoning: I don't want to put it on the floor, and I can't find space on my desk. Maybe I'll deconstruct the desk a little and see if I can level it a bit.
