1.43GHz G4 is still faster than what Apple has right now

You're leaving out 1.8ghz 970 on fast as hell panther. Speed from the processor and the OS.

I think people are missing the fact that Apple will want developers to start writing code for 64 bit architecture and for that to be tested the deveopers will need the right hardware.
