Disk Copy

Ever read the help files for Disk Copy? Don't bother just post here.


So I want to burn about 3.5 gigs onto a DVD. So I'm playing around with disk copy to learn how to do it "right".

I tried to create a new image and burn it. I have a small CD-ROM sized image. It works. When I try to burn it to a MS-DOS format, it tells me the burned image wont mount when it's done. What I really want is the file system on the disk. Something a windows/unix/mac can mount and read.


What's up with this software.

Put blank DVD-R in drive.
It mounts as an image on the desktop.
Copy files too it.
Drag it to Trash which will turn into a burn button.
It will prompt you to confirm you want to burn.
It burns...
It is burnt! in a data format that will run on Win/Mac/Linux.
Why are you even cocking about with Disc Copy?

because it takes double the amount of time... first you have to copy it to an image and then you have to burn the files... there is a way to do it with disk copy to cut that time in half (just burn)...

Yea that's what I mean. Like when on vacation I burned about 5 CD ROMs of the same pictures for family. I was thinking "there's got to be a way to make this easy with disk copy". I tried today but I don't get it.

Also I have a 3 gig tar file. Not fun to play with. So I was thinking being "smart" with diskcopy would get me something.
