Or what makes it less likely: IBM is developing a memory controller (specifically described as "Northbridge" which will be for general sale, and IBM will sell development/prototyping systems using it).

They wouldn't be releasing this kind of info if they were just sampling. I wouldn't take this literally, without an NDA they aren't going to talk shipping schedules.
