Backup software options for DVD drives?

Thread Starter
Hi, a friend of mine wants to buy a new powerbook (yeah- they're finally out) and the only motivating factor for him to get the 15 superdrive is for him to be able to backup data to DVDs.

What software is needed for this?

How usable is this functionality?

No superdrive means $180 less (edu), so if it isn't possible then there is no reason to pay the extra money. (mind you the 15 superdrive gets the better keyboard, but you can always downgrade to the combo drive and save some $).

Many thanks in advance

I haven't tried it yet, but Backup 2 does have an option to backup and restore from a DVD drive. That's free, or at least it comes with .Mac.
