edited hosts file still dosent seem to be doing anything, and i know that a.tribalfusion.com is in there

restarted and came back to post this. can somone tell me how this annoying file works?

It works for me. And I didn't have to restart. I just restarted the netinfo database. Not sure what's going on with your set up.

how do i restart the netinfo dbase? also, i was browsing around a few other sites, and i was noticing that some banners were not loading, so that means its at least partially working. but if i tell it that forums.appleinsider.com is 0.0.0.0, should i be able to load this page at all?

I get the same thing as Thunder. Can't seem to redirect pagead2.googlesyndication.com. I thought it might be the cache, but I emptied it and still no help.
