help with windows printer

Hi guys, need some help!

i have a powerbook 15". and a canon bjc-70 parallel printer. Just bought a usb-parallel adaptor and can't get it working or find a driver anywhere!

Was wondering if Virtual PC might be the way to go (either sharing a printer over 'the network' or printing from Windows in VPC)....

Can anyone out there help!?

I'd say you need gimp-print for OSX. Install gimp-print and ESP-ghostscript and retry. Read the read-me for detailed informations.

my hp-printer is not OSX compatible, but with GP it works fine.

Haven't tried gimp-print yet because its readme doesnt mention the BJC-70

Still think its worth a shot??

even though: yeah, i'd try. it's not a huge download... i think you can setup other printers manually.

downloaded gimp and ghostwriter. cannot setup the bjc 70. was able to print using the provided device name (some string of numbers) but all weird script etc. still scouring for drivers.

I'm in a similar situation. Just got my new G5 today. Good things:
- accessed internet immediately off router with no tweaking (amazing!)
- got my iPod working again--it had been sitting for the past 4 weeks no longer able to communicate with my P4 Windows machine

Bad
- Minolta 2300 DL network printer won't work, Minolta doesn't have print drivers for Macs

Hadn't thought about this when making my decision to buy my first Mac. Very disappointing. The 2300 is a nice color laser printer, but now looks like I'll have to go back to having multiple printers.
