Hard Drive Speed Test

Thread Starter
Does anyone know how to test the RPM's of your hard drive? Reason I'm asking is I recently purchased a hard drive on Ebay and was told it could be used for video editing. I assumed that meant it was 7200 rpms. Just got the drive and it works fine, but the stickers were scraped off and I have no idea how fast this drive is.
Suggestions?

Go to the information system by apple, note the type of HD, and then compare this reference with the website of the company in order to discover the rpm speed of your HD.
BTW the fact they told you this HD can be use for video editing doesn't mean that it is 7200 rpm, many recent 5400 (with high density) are perfect for the job.
