Three records, three British bands:
Kosheen: Kokopelli
Nice elelctronica/acid jazz style, with a little darkness a la Portishead and a little light vocals a la Dido.
Great production, nice sound, great songs.
But the songwriters/producers don't really seem to know how to create a powerful ending. Each song is great at the beginning, awesome in the middle, and anticlimactic at the end. Still, I find it a great record altogether.
Starsailor: Silence is Easy
Great British Mancopop record, in the style of James/Manic Street Preachers. Single is produced by Phil Spector. Destined to be a huge hit in the UK.
Muse: Absolution
Fantastic dark British Electronica with massive percussion and vocal overlay resulting in a huge sound. Compare with Massive Attack mixed with Radiohead only five times more powerfully produced. This record is my favorite of the three.
