In fact, after some more checking on line I'm a bit confused.... what is the difference between the iKlear products and the Klear screan products..... both from the same company, but only Klearscreen appears on the compnaies home page.

Help

Cheers

I don't know about those, but I used some cheap brand LCD cleaner from CompUSA and it worked pretty good.

Apple recommends not using a cleaner with alcohol or ammonia. Other than that its, um, a wash. (ba-da-bum!)

edit: found the Knowledge Base article (#60446) and Apple specifically mentions Klear Screen as being OK on their monitors.

I've used Klear screen on my Ti PB and a bunch of other computers. I have nothing but praise for their product.

I first discovered it at MacWorld SF '99 and only tried it when I found a $5.00 kit at a local Mac store. The kit contained a pump bottle with cleaner and 2 lint-free, anti-static rags. I use one rag as a screen protector, between the KB and screen when traveling.

Everyone I've recommended the product to thinks its great, and at $5.00 you can't go wrong!

I think I'll have to try this stuff next time I need more cleaner since everyone seems to have positive reports and the price is right.

There must be something wrong with me... I can't get that stuff to do a decent job on my PowerBook screen. I end up with streaks and blotches that you can see when you look at the screen at an angle.

I do love their cloths though. I just dampen one end with some warm water (not dripping) and wipe the screen in small circles, then use the other end to do the same and dry it.

The cloths are great!

I don't know how many squirts of cleaner you use -- I'm sure that will have an effect.

For me, the amount of cleaner and amount of wiping is dependent upon how dirty my screen is. What streaks is oils from ones fingers that have accumulated on the screen, either from touching it (like I do) or from coming in contact with the keys. These oils tend to not play nicely with the uber-friendly cleaners.

Usually I just keep wiping, in a circular motion, until all gunk, oil streaks, etc. is gone. The complaint I would have is that as the rags age, they eventually begin to emit a small amount of lint... but I just wipe it up with the damp cleaning rag just like the rest of the nasties...

I bought 10 iKlear Apple Polish Singles from OWC just before Thanksgiving. It works fine on my TiBook, iBook, and my Bondi iMac. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
