Too many sticky threads

Give it a rest already. Seems like every moderator's pet thread gets stuck to the top of the forum as a sticky. It's getting annoying.

Are you talking about the baseball thread? If you are, I didn't ask for it to be stickied, just like I didn't ask for the MLB Division Series topic to be stickied.

I guess applenut made that call.

If you're talking about something else, my mistake.

The stickies in Mac OS X are legitimate because without them there were a dozen duplicate threads being posted. The stickies have prevented this.

As for AppleOutsider, well, who in their right mind spends more than 5 minutes there a day? Pfft.

I did make the decision to make the baseball thread a sticky.

the reasoning for doing so is partly my own preference and part keeping it near the top so other threads arent created and since its basically an everyday event for the next couple days.

so yes, it is because its my own pet thread.

Personally, I think having the 3 sports threads as stickies is a bit annoying too.

BEGONE STICKIES! They have plenty of momentum already. If any dupes pop up, we'll nuke 'em. If they fall off the main page, they certainly weren't in use enough to warrant being stuck.

Are Sticky thread's really sticky?

Maybe there is a better name for them

I think that keeping topics as stickies is useful to get rid of duplicates, and keep a better discussion going...
