ipod issues...

Thread Starter
so everytime i pick a song, my ipod shows that song on the screen, and about 2 seconds later, the following song starts playing. When i sync it to itunes, that first song's play count is one more than before. I want to fix this, but i read of people having problems with reinstalling the software...

I bought this 30 gb iPod refurbished about 3 weeks ago from apple directly... any ideas?

Update to the newest firmware. It's the easiest way.

Yes, defiantly update the iPod to 2.1, for myself, the songs play instantly once clicked.

I had the same problem and I finally did something about it... YESTERDAY! Reformatted the iPod (again) and started from scratch. (Lucky me, I saved a disk image as a backup) New update comes out and I choose "restore", wiping my data once again. Now I am copying the files from my backup to the iPod in hopes it works. Oops, done while I was typing this.... Hold on...

Oh carp. Didn't seem to fix the skipping song problem. In fact, it just skipped to the next song through my entire playlist. Neat sleep feature! and the interface is nice and snappy again. I'll still need to work on it.

EDIT: Reinstalled the music/iTunes folder and restarted the iPod and everything seems to work again. I'm happy
