Setting default program for file extensions

Im still new to macs, so this question is probably stupid to many of you. Where do i go to make certain file extensions load as a default to different program to set to currently.

Select a file in the Finder with that certain extension.
Choose Get Info from the File menu.
Expand the Open With section.
Chose an app from the popup menu.
Click Change All.

Control-Click on a file that you want to change which program opens it by default. Select "Get Info".

Select the "Open With" triangle to expand it. Then select the App you want to use. You can then choose "Change All..." to change it to this program for all the selected files with that file type.
