Remote Desktop Solution that works over/through HTTP Proxy?

Remote Desktop Solution that works over/through HTTP Proxy?

Does anyone know of a remote desktop app that will work over HTTP? I'm stuf behind a HTTP proxy, and on a windows 2000 pc, and I want to access my mac at home...

On the windows side, there is Remotely Anywhere which has a java based interface that works over HTTP, and a screenshot based interface that acts like a web page and when you click the picture it sends the mouse click for those screen coordinates.

I'm looking for something similar or some other work around... Thanks

I don't see how this program will work for him since he's already behind a proxy server. I never used it so I could be wrong but an alternative could be

I also had the same problem few weeks ago. I developed my own java web application that acts as the server (deployed on jboss) and a client program behind the http proxy that uses http requests to do all stuff (mouse gestures, keypresses, releases, drags and moves). I have now got a fully working remote desktop that i can access my laptop at home.

If you are interested let me know.

Try TeamViewer: cross-platform remote desktop control, screen sharing, and large file transfer.

When starting up a connection you exchange a randomly generated ID and password with the other side which creates a unique, secure tunnel.
