I´m actually quite amazed that they did the press conference when they did it.

What was the time when they did it? 7 a.m eastern, 4 am pacific?

This is a good day in history.....30+ years of pain the iraq people have had to suffer under his rule. This is a day to remember for the iraq people and a peace of mind for the rest of the world.

Don't kill him. make him suffer for a long time to come.

Peace

I read an interesting article in The Gaurdian this week about America's use of mercenaries in Iraq.

Aparently, 1 in 10 of troops on the ground is a "professional consultant" (you're not allowed to call them mercanaries, because mercanaries are outlawed by the Geneva Convention - so you just change their job title instead).

I didn't realise that America used hired hands to such an extent. The worrying issue that was raised, was that hired hands don't have to obey the normal rules and regulations, and don't have to face the same disciplinary hearings.

Perhaps it's these consultants that are giving the American troops on the group such a bad name. Or perhaps not?

Anybody know anything about this?

Start another thread if you want to talk about Mercs, Mess. An intriguing topic of its own.

The people who will want to execute Saddam are, as already demonstrated by the Iraqi reporters, the people of Iraq. The coalition will find themselves protecting him.

Happy Holidays, people of Iraq.

Congratulations to the coalition forces.

Let's get the Iraqis back in business....however that works.

he is supposed to be tried in an Iraqi court. I heard that they must wait after the independance in order to start the trial.

Saddam's Hussein trial, belongs to Iraqi people.

Were there any law in Iraq that Hussein broke? Thats often the problem with trying leaders in the country they formerly ruled in.
