How do I open the Quicksilver CD tray?

I have a Quicksilver G4 that won't turn on. I figure I can get it to turn on if I get the CD tray open but, aside from pulling the glued-on faceplate off, I can't get it to open. Can someone else recommend a different course of action?

If it won't turn on, how do you figure that getting a cd in the tray will make it turn on?
BTW...don't do that. Just don't.

Maybe he means it won't boot up and wants to boot off of a CD?

Actually, I was able to turn the gears with a paperclip and boot off a CD, so it did work, worked like a charm.

I wrote the frantic (and somewhat confusing) post above when a 733 Quicksilver refused to load OS 9.2.1; it would stall just before showing the happy Mac. My school's yearbook, every page, is on this thing and I figured that I could get it to boot off a CD and perform a clean install if I could get the damn tray open, which I finally did, thank God. Sorry for not explaining this before.

BTW, it seems that Apple should include a hole for emergency openings like they used to. But alas, Apple will do what it wants. There comes a time when appearance and superficiality should take a back seat to practicality.

Actually, if you hold down your mouse button while powering on the system, the CD tray should open. The same applies to PowerBook/iBook's with CD tray's... just hold down the trackpad button.

Hope that helps!
