The bottom line is that we all need to keep our brains in gear. The whole point of this particular forum is gossip. The fun is in the speculation, as no one knows what's really coming. We need to process what we read and be sure it makes sense before we take it seriously - and even then, we shouldn't take it too seriously.

Macintosh, I hold no hard feelings. You've done publicly what others have been doing privately for a long time. I agree with you that we need a reminder now and then to keep our credulity in check.

I agree that the point of this forum is gossip, NOT LYING. What Macintosh has done is juvenile, but of course, he is a juvenile.

Macintosh - thanks for fessing up! You had YOUR fun at OUR expense. An apology would now go a long way for getting over this.

BTW - geezer1 - are you telling the truth? Or at the right time you'll own up? It takes a long time to earn respect, and just one moment to lose it.

Not at all. Isn't it possible that someone might think stunts like that are pointless, even someone who wasn't deceived in the first place? And this guy patting himself on the back and congratulating himself for the "intelligence" he exhibited, is pretty weak.

he never fessed up. he screwed up, gace out way to much info to be believable and then the mods gace us a hint to who it was. then he went on to this bullshit about how he did it "for the better of us" and to "teach us a lesson".

yea that makes sense. they'll have the fastest chip in the dual config.

do you even pay attention to what goes on anymore?

the fastest clocked chip is always in the least supply. why would apple have that one as the dual config?

Are you telling the truth about what you originally posted. My point is - how am I supposed to know that what you posted was the truth, if apparently it's okay to post untruths as long as "when the time is right, [untruths] are put right"?

The over-reaction of some of the people got me going, that's all. Macintosh pulled a fast one, but if we consider ourselves friends here, that's all it was. No reason for name calling.

But I still think that kind of jiggery pokery should be punished - moderators should take away Macintosh's username and let him start again - with the choice of only one name, something like IamJustANaughtyKid.... No hard feelings Macintosh, but we need a deterrent!

I guess you all know that I am gonna have to ride off into the sunset about now. All of my believers, I feel bad that I am not real too. I think I should let you in on one last secret before I go though. I have come upon a tantalizing little tid bit of information.

The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do.
