This banner promises something extra-ordinary from an Apple keynote at MacWorld. A new iMac fits the bill, finally reaching 1 GHz doesn't (its only about 15%, still way behind Wintel, and MHz doesn't matter - remember?). Alternatively some radically new gadget to attach to your digital hub. This is Segway-style hype.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Think about it, guys. From Apples POV, the iMac is the most important product in its recent history. It saved the company -- not even so much finanically (though it didnt hurt) - but it made people pay attention again.
Introducing an all-new iMac is a big, big event for Apple. Esp. considering that it's going to be amazing, whatever it is.
'Course, speed-bumped models all around, the announcement of OS X shipping default on all machines, a new iPix app, and breaking the Ghz barrier... all just icing on the cake.
