Part of a democracy (any good one in any event), and this includes republics, is going out of your way to protect the freedoms of minority groups. You comment is filled with such hateful shunning of that core responsibility we all have that it wouldn't take a giant leap for someone to suggest you were anti-democracy, indeed, anti-American.
