um what wrong with the people today ?
seems you can't voice an opnion without being
labelled a leftie or a liberal

i agree with some issues from both parties
(i'd say im moderate)
but what i find really annoying is the tendency
of the repblicans to immediately label anyone who
doesnt agree with them as a liberal

imho ..this is an extremely dangerous trend
same as branding anyone who doesnt agree with you
as unpatriotic.
i believe hitler used similar tactics to great success

Hmm...maybe shouldn't have mentioned Hitler....whatever...bygones.

You know what always cracks me up - all these people not being ashamed of being right-wing.

When I was a teenager it was an object of derision and no-one would admit to it even if they were.

It was way the most uncool thing you could possibly ever be.

Still is round here but they're actually proud of it.

Strange world. Must have something to do with dumbing down and sub-zero attention spans.

I find it to be the opposite. For example if you show anything other than blind support for embryonic stem cell research or maybe unregulated abortion then you are labeled right wing religious nutcase trying to force your religion down other peoples throat.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they're being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.

well...
what part of the country are you in ?
what is your edcation level & religious affliation ?

just curious.. im trying to understand your thinking
my feeling is if people dont want stem cell research then they are
entitled to that belief, but they shouldnt make hasty decisions without
understanding what the research is about.

as for religious beliefs i feel its a personal thing & people should be left
alone to their beliefs
however i have been pestered more than a few times by people who insist
i go to church...despite pointing out im not a christian,,,,,,,

Mostly I'm talking about the reaction I get here at AI. If I express some doubt about the ethics of embryonic stem cell research I'm branded a religious fanatic.

So your thesis that "you can't voice an opnion without being labelled a leftie or a liberal" is either wrong or incomplete IMO.

good....

now if the embryo was going to be discarded anyway then why not use
that for stem cell research ?
to me its like when a person is dead & has body parts that could save lives
so why not use them

what are your thought on that ?

that makes sense, but why should we be discarding embryos in the first place?

why don't we instead of killing, freeze them and then implant them into women who are infertile?

and studies had also shown that non-embryonic stem cells are less likely to kill lab animals when injected into them, than embryonic stem cells...

Are those not regulations, or are you just a liar?

Embryonic stem-cell research? What's that?
