Al-Jazeera-Saddam connection??

For those who go to Al-Jazeera for "the truth", perhaps you should rethink. Well, perhaps they give you the truth as you want to hear it and as Saddam wants it told. Seems that Al-Jazeera may have been on Saddam's staff. I guess the lesson is to read as many sources as possible. By the way, Al-Jazeera is one of the sites I check everyday.

"A videotape found in a pile of documents in Baghdad following the collapse of Saddam Husseins regime shows a former manager of the Al-Jazeera satellite channel thanking one of Saddams sons for his support and telling him that Al-Jazeera is your channel, the Asharq al-Awsat newspaper reported Sunday."

No better way to find out the truth than to check it out first hand! Johnny get your gun! Time to lose a limb for liberty!

And Poland was too! Especially its President (what's the name again, Karl?).

Man oh man. They're all Al-Jazeera now! Lets pull an Iraq on Qatar now 'my fellow citizens, they have weapons of mass destruction, especially nucelar one...and...and...well the other kind too, on the south, east, west, and north'.

Pathetic.

al-jazeera is the mid-east equivalent to fox news. neither of which make any real attempt at being either fair or balanced. they are simply breast feeding the masses. suck on.

Not saying this ain't the truth, but you are quoting from a blog which is quoting from the Jeruzalem Post, which is quoting the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper who claims it saw an unreleased documentary by the US government channel Al-Hurra, The Free One. In the same article they explain how Al-Jazeera was basically sucking up to Saddam's son to get broadcasting rights in Iraq. They also explain how they consequently refused to air an interview with Saddam Himself.

So the headline could as well have read: Al-Jazeera manouvered to keep Iraqis informed, refused to air Saddam interview.
