Hi there. Mac newbie here. Recently bought an iMac 20incher. I have downloaded .bin files for windows media player and aim messenger. However I am having troulbe installing these .bin files. As a default my Mac is using Excel to open these files up?! I'm confused, what should I do?

.bin files are compressed files (think .zip--.sit and .hqx are others) They should open in stuffit (stuffit expander is a free app). Try control-clicking the file and Open With Stuffit. If you don't have it, download it from here:

http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html
