My boss has asked me to set up a webcam-based video surveillance system in the research lab I work at. I've been looking around and can't seem to find a good, inexpensive multi-camera solution.

I need software that can handle two or three cameras with independent motion-detection-based recording at a low framerate (between 5 frames per second to 5 seconds per frame). It would be nice to get periodic snapshots (i.e. every 5-10 minutes) when no motion has been detected, but once it has been detected, video must recorded for a period of time without motion. Time-stamping is important. Pan/tilt/zoom is not required. We require 15 days of saved video.

Does anyone know of a good solution? We want to buy software, cameras and cable for under $300 and use less than 1 GB per day for storage.
