Whats the deal with ICQ's prefs and extended options

What do ICQs extended options do? (ICQ 3.0 prefs: misc)

Is it just a space holder, or does selecting more whales actually do something?

To answer your question my guess is it's a joke. The ICQ team likes to joke around quite a bit... just look REAL closely at the logging on window when you open ICQ... notice the sarcastic quips? Yeah so they're funny.
