NilObjectException was not handled. MacTracker problems, need some help.

Hey all,
everyone knows what a great application MacTracker is, but i've discovered that i just cant run it on this computer (1.25Ghz eMac, 256mb of RAM)

once i've downloaded/installed/opened it, i get this message when i try to view information on any model computer in it:

"An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled.
The application must shut down."

i've done a google search and had little luck. I've discovered that this message isn't unique to MacTracker, and that it's not even unique to macs. I saw someone on a PC with a similar problem.
I've also read that someone else has the same message with MacTracker, but there didn't seem to be a sollution.

If you can help, please do.

Thanks all

That means something went wrong internally in the program, and the programmer who wrote it never bothered to write any code to fix it if it ever happened. Ok that probably doesn't make much sense, but basically the programmer left out some code.

Yep, this is a REALBasic runtime error. The app MacTracker is written in REALBasic.

The app runs fine on my G5 - so the thing to do is email the author from the info on his web site - ian@mactracker.ca

In the meantime you could trash the prefs file "ca.mactracker.mactracker3.plist" in the Users/yourname/Library/Preferences folder, relaunch the app and see what happens.
