Dashboard - Flight Tracker

Why doesn't flight tracker on dashboard show the aeroplane location for European flights?

It does for flights within America, it's VERY annoying!

Does anybody have any ideas?

Flight Tracking outside of the continental US is just not feasible yet, sadly. The reason that US-based flight tracking software (like FlightAware) is possible is due to the government making that tracking data available to industry. No other countries have (yet) made that same decision, so tracking data is simply not available for software developers to incorporate into widgets or websites.

The first step would be to contact the EU and get them to set up an equivalent system whereby that flight tracking data is available publically.

Ehm... I used it yesterday to track a flight in Europe. From Spain to the Netherlands to be exactly.

Edit: hehe... i misread it... Yeah... you're right... it doesn't show the plane's location... though it does show the time schedule... and apparently all the planes are on time!

Oh wow, I didn't even know it did display the location, that's damned cool.

Would it work on flights from the United States to Europe?

Actual radar tracking is only available for the portion of the flight that's within US airspace.

actually, as far as i understand the situation, the only planes in europe are ones temporarily located there to refuel between transatlantic flights us citizens take to marvel at the europeans fully integrated public transit network, with great intra city public transit all the way up to high speed trains between major hubs. hm.
