but this is exactly why iPhone is a 'closed' system.
Jobs and Ives would probably throw up seeing "sink or swim" on the iPhone.
The 'production value' of OSx on the iPhone, and the applications on it, is what distinguishes it as a product.
Apple will have a very tough challenge finding the fine line between "cool" apps that they allow (innovation, breakthrough internet device etc.) and 'gross' apps that spam up your iPhone.
Again, least amount of offence meant to Giki possible, great ideas and abilities etc etc etc, but I think this is what Apple is fighting against happening. Good call bad / bad call in the long run? who knows.
