It's obvious that third party companies are making a lot of money on iPod accessories.

One that would come in handy for the new 4GB or 8GB iPhone wuld be an external mini hard drive to store additional movies, songs, photos, etc. Use your iPhone as a stand-alone device around town and in the office, but plug in the hard drive while on the road to catch up on video podcasts, watch iTunes movies, view photos, etc.

I don't know if the back of the iPhone will be scratch-resistant or not, but the iPhone would slide into this hard drive, like a sleeve, it wouldn't take much more room and would protect the phone, as well.

Thoughts?
