fn key on wireless keyboard

is there a way i can configure the the fn key to the off state so i can just press F keys to control volume and such?

it gets a bit annoying having to use two hands to turn the volume up or down or controlling a video.

I don't think this is exactly the way you would want it to work, but try this: Go to System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard. Click Sticky Keys on. Press fn which will stay pressed without having to keep your finger on it ; then, change volume. Voila - ONE hand does it all.

Caveat: If you find that your cursor sticks and you can't get it free, turn sticky keys off. It DOES happen occasionally.

Sys Prefs > Keyboard + Mouse > Keyboard tab

uncheck the 'Use F1-F12' for software features instead of hardware ones.

That feature doesn't seem to be on my G4 tower. Is it only on laptops?
