DAB Radios in the UK?

I bought a relatively cheap DAB radio, it was half price at £20.00 its really good but I've lots of stories that DAB radio is going to made defunct. I think its great for only £20 (about $40)

DAB's codec is severely out of date, and there's supposed to be a transition to DAB+, but I don't know where the UK is on that.

Here in Canada, DAB is virtually non-existent. It's being broadcast, but no players are available.
The industry seems to be hesitant to upgrade to DAB+, or to switch to the US-made HD Radio.

Well it's way better than normal radio and seems to be pretty much full coverage in the UK. Not sure about it being obsolete.. could be for all i know.
