mbp suddenly slow, clicking on top lhs

Thread Starter
Title pretty much says it all. my mbp recently started clicking from the top left corner of the keyboard and subsequently has been painfully slow sometimes locking up.

the clicking and whirring sounds like disk activity and head movement which is worrying. its still under warranty so should be fixable but just wondering if others have any ideas re diagnostics, possible faults etc

If it's the same as my PowerBook G$, then that is certainly the location of the HDD. Get it in to Apple and get it replaced while the warranty is still in effect.
Or... if you feel you're up to it, take the opportunity to do it yourself and install a larger capacity drive
