I wonder if McCain's crew realized his popularity would be eclipsed by Palin...

Palin's church thinks gays can be changed to heterosexuals:

Somewhere I saw something about the pastor saying that God was angry at America.

What was that fuss over Obama's church?

Well if you look at it in a global sense it's probably the type of popularity you don't want.

Regarding the so-called "media-bias" that the Republicans are hiding behind:

The comments at the end by Republican consultants are quite interesting.

Why? Isn't that what most of us have been saying for a long time?

I fully expect the Obama ticket to win in November. Not even the Democrats, as incompetent as they are, could mess up THAT badly.

But this election has been really interesting on two fronts.

One, it shows how much the Abortion millstone hangs around the Democratic neck. If Obama was pro-life, we would be talking a majority of truly EPIC proportions. With McCain's strategic VP pick (who knew he had it in him?) it's actually become sort of a horse race.

The second point is how certain members of the left (on AI and in the wider society) have become so scarred by defeat over the years that they absolutely cannot believe they are going to win this time. Every talking point must be hammered home and the advantage must be seized on every front.

Case in point is this thread. The DNC thread was started by a Democratic supporter. But the official RNC thread could not be left to a Republican. Not at all.

Ease up and enjoy the ride guys. This is supposed to be fun. Important, but fun.

I don't consider the antics of the Republicans "fun". Nothing is beneath them, and they are bringing the country down with them.

It's hard to see how pro-life would be a big winner for the Democrats, since most Americans favor access to legal abortions. Since the hard-core pro-life crowd would be less likely to vote for Obama anyway, sees like a net negative.

The sure thing premise might make sense if a) America had a professional, non-corporate media that served as a brake on using overt lies as a central campaign strategy, instead of a lazy, vapid, gossipy entertainment press eager to embrace the next right wing narrative, since that's the path of least resistance and, b) the Bush admin hadn't spent the last eight years turning every aspect of government into a functional wing of the RNC, including most especially Justice, and further spent those years cultivating a "voter fraud" hoax as a cover for voter suppression campaigns.

Yes they can. These are the democrats we're talking about.
