Imac G5 hard disk failure??

i have a sightless imac g5 that randomly shuts off about 30 seconds without me being able to log in. although i was able to log ina d surf the net for about 15 minutes once other than that it jsut turns on that shuts off suddenly. the power jsut goes out. a friend of mine said this was a hard disk failure. could it be anyhting else? what should i do?

hate to say it but this sounds more like the logic board going out. my ibook did the same thing.

The problem could also be the power supply. Try following these steps
