MacMall

I ordered a MacBook Pro and several of the "Free" after rebate items yesterday. Today I see postings about rebate ripoffs by MacMall. What has been your experience with this store?http://forums.appleinsider.com/image.../1confused.gif

I've made several of that type of purchase from them over the last decade or so... and never had a problem. Rebates take forever to get paid (couple months maybe?) but they do get paid.
Personally, I wish they'd skip the "rebates" and just give you the discount at the time of purchase... but I suppose they're hoping some percentage of buyers will "forget" to mail it in.
From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, "Look at that!" -...

I think your experience was the norm, the negative posts that I saw were few when compared to there volume of customers. I will follow their rebate requirements and document the process very well. I placed the order around midnight Monday and at 3:30 this morning I received notice of shipment so that is promising.

I ordered one from Macconnection with a rebate also. I hope they are better about the rebates.
I am going to mail it return receipt requested so they cant claim to have never received it.

Vendors don't have to hope that some percentage of their customers won't file for a rebate, because they have the facts on it. Overall, 40% do not file for their rebate, netting 2 billion annually for the vendors.

I bought my MBP last year from MacMall. The rebate checks arrived in 4 weeks.

I can't say if that's typical of MacMall, or not, as I haven't dealt with them in several years. But, you can bet that there are a lot of folks that waited longer, or that didn't get the rebates at all. My last rebates came from Apple, and I had them in hand 3-4 days after the purchase! Too bad all rebates aren't that fast.
