If New Mexico contracting procedures are anything like the federal government, i. e. an open advertised competitive process, then there are built in firewalls between the contracting office, the bidders, and the awarder of said contract.

There are strict audit trail requirements.

Been there, done that.

Cut to the chase, forgo all the innuendo.

Did Rahm come back from Africa yet?

I'm sure the investigation can move back to the front burner when he is back in the country. Maybe he'll be back for the inaugeration?

Meanwhile the guy is issuing press releases from another continent and this is proof he is all in the clear.

I'm sure it is supposed to be humor to make a point but Franksargent has assured me that anytime a non-black person imitates a black person, it is racist and a form of blackface. I could consider that whole context bit, but he has assured me by repeating it five times that blackface is blackface.

Replacing "th" with "d" is a racial stereotype.

I just have to prove a single thing for it to be true. It's right there in the song.

Al Sharpton is an African American. The race of the singer is irrelevant.

One person who impersonates another person's stereotype is stereotyping.

Jesse Jackson impersonating Al Sharpton would be considered blackface.

Frank impersonating Nick would be considered whiteface (I'll assume so for the purposes of this discussion).

Anyone who impersonates anyone is assuming that individual's "face".

The face being imitated in this case happens to be black, ergo ipso facto blackface.

And it would appear that the official RNC response happens to agree with me.

You can now proceed with proving a negative.

Nick. Just as we know, what phase of the bus throwing are we at now?

Is Rahm approaching the pedestrian crossing, talking on his mobile phone, laughing, unaware of the large London double-decker careering towards him? Or is he weeping and screaming, his arms and legs held by large, fat men in grey gym sweats with O on the breast while Obama revs the engine of the luxury team coach, adjusting the the crosshair on the windscreen?

It took a year with Wright because that was the Clinton campaign finally made a stink about it and the media reported it. With no one in town and nothing but the inaugeration being reported when they do return, I suspect that this won't get any traction until after then at best. Obama knows how to handle the media. As I said, he got the report, leaked his version of events to THIS WEEK for George to spit out there on Sunday, held it for three days and released it on Christmas Eve while sending Rahm off to Africa.

I'll look forward to your future satire blog posts though. You've posted more frequently than I have at my actual blog lately. I love satire though and what you have done is very cute.

Ah, yes, 'sending Rahm off to Africa', with his family, on a pre-booked family holiday. When he ought to have stayed in America defending himself from ... something that wasn't news in the first place. It's almost as sinister as Obama's 'vacation' in 'Hawaii'.

THESE PEOPLE ARE SHAMELESS.

So... the reason it hasn't been in the news is not because there's absolutely nothing newsworthy in it. It's not because it's a non-scandal confected from speculation and wishful thinking in conservative blogs.

It's because... er... the entire political world has given up on politics and no-one's interested in news anymore.

Cool, it's now a matter of "getting to" Rahm, in somebody's checklist of Obama admin indictees.

And, it follows, could we really expect them to get to Nancy Pelosi before they get to Rahm? Or Clinton before Pelosi? Or the DNC before Clinton?

As you say, they haven't formally indicted Blagojevich yet. As far as I can tell from reading the 'news', Rod seems to have offered a vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder and seems to have been recorded talking about it.

And... Rahm seems to have spoken to him on the telephone in the course of the duties he is paid to perform and...

...this isn't scandalous, and this isn't news, and he's not going to be thrown under the bus. Is he.

Once in the WH, I doubt Obama will be able to take a holiday for some time as he will be very busy cleaning up after the self-proclaimed War President.
