Strange lag occurs only when I try loading Photoshop CS3...

First and foremost, my computer runs fine. I've gone through scan disk, reinstalled OS X, and even added extra memory, so there's no issues there. Now what's weird is that when I open Photoshop, there is a long lag that can last up to 5 minutes. It seems to stall when it starts "loading color profiles." Once it gets through that, Photoshop operates perfectly -- as long as I stay in Photoshop. If I try to drag in an image from, say, Safari or Firefox for example, the lag occurs again. Same if I accidently click out of Photoshop. Every time, I have to endure through that lag for it to open up.

Again, this only happens when loading or going from another program to Photoshop.

I've been to the Genius Bar in my area numerous times and they couldn't narrow in on the problem.

Try the Adobe forums for PS3.

My guess, copy protection scheme and internet interference.

Could be it just needs a update, could be your drive has a corrupted file Adobe needs.

Could be a dirty/defective PS3 install disk corrupting a needed file.

Hard to tell.
The danger is that we sleepwalk into a world where cabals of corporations control not only the mainstream devices and the software on them, but also the entire ecosystem of online services around...

I had exactly the same problem. I fixed by simply freeloading CS4 from piratebay. Voila!
