privileges problem

I just got a new MBP and have been transferring files from my old one. However, I keep getting alerts that I don't have sufficient privileges to replace certain files, and I'm having to enter my password lot to alter certain folders. I've repaired permissions several times.

I had some issues with my previous machine where my admin account became corrupted and had to be replaced with another account.

How can I now update everything on my new machine to allow me full access from my newly setup admin account?

MBP 15.4/2.4ghz

OS 10.5.6

If the files are on an external hard drive you can get info on the drive and check "ignore permissions on this drive"

If the are being shared you could try batchmod, versiontracker.com

dude i have the same problems
i have so many files that i can;t access
you have a key chain password issue i think
or you may not have a password at all in your key chain .
i hope some one can help us

The one true way!
Enable root access, and use root as your default account..






root can do anything, including routine maintenance (rm)
