Control iTunes From Remote PC

I searched the forums and could not filter out enough iPhone results, so I've decided to post my question...

I, like most, have numerous PCs around the house. I have 1 main desktop that has all my music and media. I would like to be able to remotely play the music on this machine at the machine (since it has the speakers hooked up and contains the library).

I currently have an iPhone and use the Apple REMOTE app on it and it does almost exactly what I would like my laptop to do. I want to fire up iTunes on my laptop, connect to my desktop, hit play, and it be as if I were sitting at the desktop - the music plays though the desktop speakers.

I find it hard to explain this, but basically I want to simulate the remote app on my laptops. PCs or Macs...

I don't want to use RDP or VNC - I would prefer to stick with iTunes alone or with a plugin but will settle for 3rd party apps if they are done nicely.

Thanks!

You didn't say what platform you are on. I am assuming that you are using Windows, in which case I can't help you. But if you are using Leopard use Screen Sharing. That is what I do.

I have both Windows and OS X. I want to stay away from remoting in or sharing the screen. I really like the idea of having iTunes connect to a server and am surprised Apple doesn't already have something like this.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

Have a look at http://us.creative.com/products/prod...9&listby=usage it works on both mac & win pc.. this seems to be a simpler solution (plug & play).. it can stream your itunes wirelessly to speakers.. hope it helps!
