I think it's almost necessary to have those in power perceive a need for moderators, or in this case more moderators, such as ourselves. I mean, it really is important--there are so many off-topic posts to be shuffled around and large images to be changed into links. I just want all of you moderators to know, that if you're looking for a Few Good Men, I'm one of them.

hey
bak off dude
i got first dibs
besides...im providing some of these "off-topic posts" such as this thread...so i should be better to deal w/ the problem, because im part of it :-P
pst, hey mods...brads a traitor...he just wants personal power and glory, and then he'l stab all the real mods in the bak...so watch out...
you'd have to be completely absolutely totally nuts and crazy and insane (and probably even have a fair dose of stupidity thrown in) to ever want to be a moderator on an online mac forum. oh it looks wonderful and glorious from the outside. but once you're inside, you're trapped, and made into a slave and you're constantly suspicious of everybody and you have to always watch your back, and it just really really sucks, and they take over you and it's pure torture for ever and ever. you really don't ever want to ever be a moderator. ever.
Second, under the old regime, mods were chosen by the mods. We didn't pay attention to requests either (except to mark down people who seemed too eager). I have never asked to be a mod (or to take similar positions elsewhere), but I accepted when I was asked.
I don't really understand why people get so excited about the possibility of being a mod. Basically, you go from being a forum member to being a forum member with custodial duties. It's a service I'm happy to perform, but it's not all that and all that.
