Pipe Dream
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone around here has any new info on the state of ZFS in SL. I am still holding on to my pipe dream of someday being able to purchase an Apple-designed home server that makes use of ZFS and puts Drobo to shame while integrating properly with iLife (iTunes server, for example), Time Machine, etc...
New network wake from sleep / go back to sleep when idle functionality in SL would be pretty cool in this kind of environment...
Any news at all on the state of ZFS beyond the "all mention has been removed from Apple.com"???
Perhaps someone has found something in the betas??? Or more likely, perhaps some info that may have come from WWDC??? I am confident many developers must have asked the ZFS question to Apple engineers @ WWDC. Find it hard to believe there hasn't been a single leak regarding this...
Really don't want to deal with Drobo's quirks or with the headache of running an OpenSolaris box...
Thanks!
