turned this on today just a grey screen wont load OS. I think the HD is fried, going in tomorrow to get a new one install, does my suspicion seem to be correct?
If the HDD is repeatedly clicking or not spinning up when it's trying to load then it's broken.
If you boot your machine in verbose mode by holding command-v at boot, it will run through some text telling you what's up. A broken drive will report an IO error.
