iPhone remote/mic earphones FAIL with sweat
Nice... the premier workout device in the world has a set of earphones that do not tolerate moisture.
see this thread

also a segment of an email I wrote to Steve Jobs
With my 3GS iPhone I have to carry a second set of earphones. The ipod touch ones work in sweat as do the 3G ones with the mic that does not have the volume control or remote control.
Too bad as this is a sweet piece of equipment.
Take a look at this
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2568.aspx
no mention of moisture issues on the front page
but in the features tab is this
http://screencast.com/t/tgeC4bETPDI
how did TESCO get this information and why is it concealed from loyal apple customers
also....not working with moisture is a bug not a feature.
:-)
I am sure you are working on a fix for this now. I feel sorry for the shuffle users who bought this to work out and found their controls do not work.
When is the replacement going to be in stores for the no charge exchange?
Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Hmmm. Good read, OP. I do not experience this problem with my earpiece. This is wierd. Send your earpiece to Apple for a check. Could be a defective component inside.
