Videos not working, screen goes black

A while back, I used Any Video Converter to convert some avi files to watch on my ipod.

These synced to my ipod ok.

However, since installing the new version of itunes I've had some problems.

When trying to view a movie, the screen just goes black and the ipod freezes and I need to reset it.

The converted files still work fine on quicktime on my pc, in itunes AND on my iphone 3gs.

Does anyone know what I should do to sort this out?

It's a 5th gen, 80gb ipod I am having this problem with.

Are you using a PC-based itunes library to upload files to your ipod? If so the step-by-step solution is as follows:

    1. throw your PC from the tallest building you can find

    2. buy a mac

    3. smile, you are done fixing your problem once and for all.

Is there any need to be a c*nt about things?

I've also tried restoring my ipod, but the problem still exists.

I've noticed on the official apple forums that this seems a pretty common problem.
