How do I change account name?

Hey guys, my girlfriend just bought a last generation open box aluminum macbook from micro center. Machine is great overall, came with Leopard on it. But the admin account name is "Valued Customer" and she wants to change it to her own. We can't figure it out.

We go into system preferences as Admin (the only admin account that exists), go into "accounts" and unlock it and change the name to her name. Yet in the finder next to the little house icon it doesn't change to her name. Nor does it in that screen saver that uses the user name.

I'm kinda baffled. I'm considering just reinstalling Leopard, but before I do that I was hoping maybe you guys had a solution.

You need to logout of the current account via the Apple Menu, and log in with your new account. Afterwards, go back into system preferences --> accounts, and delete all other accounts (i.e., Valued Customer) and set your girlfriends account to login by default...

If she does that, she won't be user 501 which may cause strange problems with some software.

Since it's a new machine, I say the easiest thing to do is just clean install Leopard. There are ways of completely renaming a user account, but they're complicated.

We tried that, it didn't work. I just reinstalled the OS.
