This computer must emulate PCI cards and fabricate the ports with internal robots. You just insert the raw materials in a slot...

While I would love to dream of an "Super-Mac" like everyone is posting, what Apple would produce to entice me to buy a new Mac is a little more realistic. As a Designer I need a relatively powerfull computer to work on at home, but right now I'm using a 400 mhz G3 at work so any of the G4s on the market would be more powerfull than what I currently use. At the same time I want as much value as I can get for the money I spend. So my "dream" Mac looks something like this:

800 mhz G4, preferably upgradable to a dual with a blank ZIF socket on the daughter card.

    266 mhz system/memory bus

128 MB Ram, upgradable to 2GB

    CDRW, or Combo drive

20-40 GB HD at low end

    3 free PCI slots

    Gigabit Eathernet

    2 Firewire ports

    4 USB ports

AGP X8 (X4) Video card with support for Dual Monitor with SVideo out

All this for as close to $1,000 as possible

That sounds pretty reasonable but Apple would never price it that low.
