Lost in thought
Less than a year ago I purchased the non-unibody 15" 2.5Ghz Macbook Pro with the 512MB video card, matte screen, apple care and upgraded the ram to 4Gb. It's a beautiful machine in every way. I only use it on my desk and take my 13" dell D430 latitude to university (school) for minor note taking yet mainly freelance work and assignments in between classes. This year I started 3D digital concepts and as students we're getting a $40 for one year license to FormZ. Since the license is affordable, I am looking at purchasing it for this year so I don't have to do the two-hour trip to school (one-way) on some weekdays and on sunday the school labs are closed. My current reflection is, the 15" macbook pro is very heavy. I carry the 13" everywhere and it's just the right size and weight. I need to know which configuration of the current 13-inch macbook pro or if a special configuration of the older 13" unibody macbook will do to match my current 15" non-unibody macbook.
I need help here because I need to know which is the closest 13-inch macbook in terms of specifications and hardware to my current 15" and lastly, how much would I price my 15" for roughly .... I used my macbook pro once on my lap, I kept it away from direct sunlight and made sure the room temperature is not over heated, I slipped on an hard shell in combination with a protective film on the track pad and the surface area around it, I covered the keyboard with iskin and I charged the battery according to the manual.
I invested time and money to keep this machine in top shape ... I don't know why I am giving all this too much information and details, yet I hope it helps

I would recommend the base model macbook pro 13." Up the RAM to 4GB on your own (not too hard) and you're set. Also, buy from a retailer like MacConnection so you don't pay tax.
On a side note, I love FormZ: truly the best!
mine is 4Gb ... that's pretty much the only difference So I placed mine for 1700 ... too expensive ? since it's the older model with the silver keys ... no ?
I found that on ebay it is priced at around $1600 Canadian + shipping with 2 Gb of ram

I don't know what it's worth, but if it doesn't sell... reduce the price until it does?
1. Use a reserve for big items
2. Put the starting price relatively low
3. Put a Buy-it-now price slightly higher than reserve
In your case I might set the reserve to 1500, the starting price to 900, and the buy it now to 1700.
If you set the starting price high, you might as well make the auction short because there won't be any activity until the last hour or so.
