Quote of the Day
Today's quote comes from U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld concerning the location of Bin Laden.
[quote]He's either in Afghanistan, or some other country, or dead.<hr></blockquote>
Gee, thanks for telling us something that we already didn't know.
Guess what? I'm either in Afghanistan or some other country or dead too!
Sorry, but after seeing him say it, I just had to post it.

He could, although very unlikely, be in space. And Rumsfeld also ruled out the possibility of BL being dead on earth. So in fact of the four combinations of Earth/space and Alive/dead only the earth/alive and space/dead combos are possible according to Rumsfeld. I really think the US military is closing in on him.
And btw: He is not in my appartment, neither dead or alive. 700 square feet less earth surface they have to seek on (although I can´t say for sure about the appartments above and below me).
/end rant of random thoughts
Sidenote: Bin Laden could be in my country (Canada) we seem to be getting the reputation as The Country Most Preferred By Terrorists For Enterring The United States -- 10 Years Running? which sucks. Canada is a very peace-loving country, but thanks to lax in our immigration and border-checks people can waltz across our borders and wreak havoc in the US. Well the government is apparently making it more difficult to enter and leave the country so hopefully this will be nipped in the bud before things go from bad to worse.

What do you expect him to say, "Well he's either at Omar Akbar Abul Mohammad Sheep ****er's place in Pakistan, we're going to raid that in 12 hours OR he's Mullah Omar Horse ****er's cave 60 miles north of Kandahar. The B52 just took off and will be there in 8 hours."
Is it just me or does the government now (and I suppose always has) revel in its own stupidity?
I'm not saying he's a dumb man. I'm saying he made a stupid comment. Hey, we all do it at one point or another. Plus, all the reporter asked was whether there were any new leads in the hunt for Bin Laden, and that was his response.
I don't think that's a very stupid question.

<strong>I did watch the press conference. That's where I heard him say it.

He does that in reply to stupid questions - as would many people.
<strong>Yes, I heard it from "inside" sources (those voices in my head) that Bin Laden is currently living on Mir in the guise of a dead Russian poet/astronaught. The fact that there are no dead Russian Poets or astronaughts on Mir is of concern however.

Yes, um didn't mir crash into the ocean last year?
<strong>

Exactly.
Like I said. Watch him for a full week. When asked for the 1000th time in 2 minutes "where's Osama" you'll get a Rumsfled type of answer.
<strong>the space theory is just too far-fetched for even my way of thinking</strong><hr></blockquote>
Well its you Secretary of Defense blabbing about him being dead in space, although only indirectly.
And about the MIR theory: Since MIR was taken down about a year ago Osama couldn´t be in it for no other reason that he would be dead and on earth. And remeber what Rumsfeld said: "In afghanistan or some other country or dead". I don´t think he could survive the crash.
[See Ronald Reagan or better yet Dan Quayle]
<strong>I don't mind dumb sound bites if it's at least straightforward and isn't a constant stream of them.

Yes - if he is asked about his comments and says "Weeeeehhllll, I dooon't recaaauull making thooose commenntts..." Then we can worry.
(no idea how the hell to get across a Reagan speech tone in text...)
