Will scanning old cards hurt them?

I would like to scan my father's non-sports card collection from the late 30s, 40s, and early 50s and make a website so the world can see this collection. Will the scanner light hurt them or am I just overreacting?

    Unless you've got a flatbed so powerful that it generates the heat of a thousand suns, I think you should be okay.



    Just BE CAREFUL with them, especially if they are in any sealed container.
