Help please!! macbook pro

I have my friends macbook pro, I think it from 2007 or 2008.The problem is one day when the computer turns on I get a apple logo like its loading then the screen goes blank.IF i put the osx cd in and hold option I can select the cd to boot from --it seems like its loading then same black screen.Soo I tried installing window 7 and it worked perfectly just like any normal pc.

Soo i deleted the the hd via my dad's g5 again but it wont let me install osx from the macbook pro screen just goes blank but if I put a windows cd it lets me install..I really need help

    Have you made any hardware changes recently? (memory, hard drives, etc.)
