This may help.



There may be theoretical possibility otherwise, that sms database may be found somewhere in the folders of your iphone backup and then you would be able to hack it by sqllite3 utility. That remains to be studied and tried though.

    text messages are stored as sqlite database in iphone backups. iphone backup slurper sees them well in there





    Unfortunately, sqlite3 coming with macos 10.5.* can't decipher those mdbackup files. But in principle it would be nice to add messages to that database and then to restore iphone from the hacked backup...
